Community Commitment
Caring for, and contributing to our community, has been part of Colder’s culture throughout our history in the St. Paul Midway area. Our Community Resource Committee represents a cross-functional team of employees that actively promote community involvement by offering encouragement and support for Colder employees in their efforts to improve our community, and also by providing funds and assistance to local charitable organizations.

Feed My Starving Children (FMSC)
Recently, a group of employees representing nearly every department at Colder traveled to FMSC’s Brooklyn Park packaging facility. The meals that are packaged were designed by Minnesota food scientists especially to help those suffering from severe malnutrition and starvation and are distributed to more than 20 countries each year. Over the course of one morning, Colder employees worked as a team to assemble enough food packages to feed 31 children for one year.

Lifetrack Resources
Colder has supported Lifetrack Resources for many years. This diverse organization provides speech and occupational therapies to children and adults, helps those with employment barriers obtain and maintain employment, and provides assistance to severely at risk preschool children and their families through their Families Together program and therapeutic preschool. Most recently, CPC employees donated over 400 cleaning and personal hygiene supplies which will be |
distributed during home visits to the families with children in the preschool program; these seemingly common items cannot be purchased with food stamps, and they represent a great need for many of the families.

Our Committee is guided by four “Pillars” that focus our community caring efforts:
- Diversity Outreach
- Children & supporting the family
- Jobs and Education Initiatives
- Healthcare issues
We contribute to our communities in a variety of ways, including:
- Employee Participation: individual donations of time, goods, and financial contributions with matching funds from Colder
- Committee events: food shelf drives, gathering school supplies, providing Christmas presents, etc.
- Guided Giving: financial contributions to organizations using the Charities Review Council Standards
A few of our recent activities include:
- To recognize and support the contributions of our armed forces, Colder Products began collecting and mailing much needed supplies through the AnySoldier program. Each month we mail a care package to each group containing snacks, hygiene products, books, magazines, etc. We received a letter back from one group expressing their appreciation. A photograph of a few of our employees supporting the program was included with our most recent packages. To learn more, please visit the anysoldier.com website.
- Colder employees raised $19,000 to benefit the United Way in two different fund drives. During the first, every Tuesday for a month special lunches were available featuring sales of baked goods, homemade tamales and egg rolls. That even concluded with an auction of baskets and other goodies donated by employees. Our second drive featured a raffle of days off, 2 free airline tickets, hockey tickets, golf outings and a luxury weekend stay in Duluth. Through employee donations of time, auction items and contributions, we achieved excellent participation throughout the company. Thanks to each and every employee for their contributions.
- Raised enough money for Keystone Community Services Food shelf to buy over 7,000 lbs of food for needy families during the holidays.
- Made financial contribution to Hmong American Partnership, CLUES and Chicanos Latinos Unidos en Servicio.
