Job Summary:

This position is internally focused, but communicates with sales and customers to provide technical support for assigned product lines.  Key responsibility is managing new product development projects from design concept to market release for medical applications and markets. 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of defined product lines including cost, quality, product improvement, and product line additions.
  • Manages new product development projects from design concept to market release.
  • Key player with Business Unit Manager and Designer in the definition and development of New Products assuring that new products meet specific parameters and timelines.
  • Provides technical support to marketing and sales.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Provides technical support to marketing and sales.
  • Provides product training support.
  • Ensures product issues are resolved through coordination of internal actions across departments .
  • Reviews product lines for margin improvement candidates and coordinate actions to achieve improved margins on assigned product lines.

Essential Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Required Job Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Product development experience, preferably with plastic parts.
  • Project management experience

  • Strong technical aptitude and effective communication skills

  • Good business acumem

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Experience in medical markets, customer facing interaction, and plastic product design/manufacturing.

  •  Product Management experience in fat paced, product development environment with diverse customer base.
