Clean-In-Place (CIP)
CIP chemicals are transported to bioprocessing facilities in some form of a jerry can, carboy, drum or Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC). The benefits of using a connection to transfer the chemical to the pumping system, chemical cart or other bioprocessing equipment include:
- Simple and straightforward connection for the operator
- Elimination of potential chemical exposure for personnel and the environment
How are biopharmaceutical manufacturers incorporating connectors in the CIP process?
- The Non-spill Series and high purity ChemQuik Series allows instant disconnects (and reconnects) under pressure.
- The DrumQuik® and BottleQuik® products combine a dip-tube and a quick connect coupler that easily connects to the pumping system. The DrumQuik PRO system is also capable of passing UN/DOT transport requirements for certain HAZMAT chemicals and is made from FDA compliant materials.
